What do we do?

The Himalayan Club is a grassroots cricket club in Melbourne’s North. When we are not on the ground, we run various community-focused events to connect Nepalese youth and families through sports and cultural activities. It is our goal to help young men and women to improve their physical and mental wellbeing through Cricket.

Cricket

We were established in 2011 as a local Cricket Club. Since then, we have gained hundreds of players and thousands of fans. We are also the 5 times NAV Cup winners and are the first-ever Nepalese women’s only Cricket squad.

Community

Our club runs various social and community events. Most recently we ran Milo Kids Cricket camp (2 years in a row). We are also committed to connecting International students through sports and have many students playing for us.

Culture

Our club was established by a group of Nepalese International students. Today, the majority of our founding members are still active in the club and help run various cultural events and activities. We have helped promote Nepalese culture through the game.

Message from the President

Looking back at the year 2020, the Himalayan club started building the club slowly with the help of cricket players, captains, and various executives. Leading to 2020, the club had been improving per year but in 2020, the club regained its momentum, and this was reflected with winning the major trophy of NAV CUP 2020, marking our club as 5th-time championships of the trophy, which no other club has yet reached to the feat. Cricket & community passion remained heightened and various activities gained momentum. Our club has two Sunday teams and 1 Grade team in 2020 FY which I believe the club will look to expand to more with more activities in future.
